Generator Circuit Breakers

This online engineering PDH video presentation will present information on generator circuit breakers (GCB) including their advantages and limitations.
This presentation will discuss the advantages and short falls of using one technology versus the other, along with the technical parameters of the GCB and their selection criteria. It will also review the main providers offering 24 kV GCB SF6, vacuum GCBs, and Air Compress from General Electric, ABB, Siemens and Alstom France.
This 1 PDH video presentation is intended primarily for electrical engineers, technicians, and others who are interested in enhancing their knowledge of generator circuit breakers.
This PE continuing education video presentation is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understanding the behavior of Generator Circuit Breakers (GCBs)
- Learning about SF6 technology including General Electric’s 24 kV GCB
- Learning about ABB’s vacuum GCB
- Learning about Siemens Vacuum GCB
- Familiarizing with Alstom France Air Compress GCB
- Understanding the criteria for choosing appropriate GCB technology.
