Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) Grid Impact - Solar
Note: This is a recorded video presentation and does not qualify as a live interactive course nor a live webinar.
This engineering online PDH video presentation will establish, through slides and discussions, the impact of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), i.e. solar, wind, energy storage, on the electric transmission and distribution grid.
The presentation will also discuss key substation voltage regulating equipment, i.e. transformers, capacitors, shunt reactors and voltage regulators as well as utilizing DERs’ inverters and other fast acting electronics to adjust the voltage. Solar performance during sunny, cloudy and peak days will be analyzed as well as the impact of the frequency market energy storage.
This 3 PDH online video presentation is intended for electrical, mechanical and computer engineers as well as others involved in a technical and non-technical level in the renewable energy world who are interested in learning more about the future of the energy systems and the impact of solar, wind, energy storage, fuel-cells, distributed generation, etc. and how to maintain a reliable grid.
This PE continuing education live webinar is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understanding the Impact of DERs on the grid
- Learning the principles behind voltage and current
- Familiarizing with, generation, transmission, substations, distribution system, transformer voltage control and capacitor banks
- Understanding DERs’ Grid Impact
- Knowing what requency Market Energy Storage is
- Familiarizing with the EEE 1547-2018 and Next steps
