This online engineering PDH interactive presentation provides a brief summary on the Bhopal Disaster.

Currently known as the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, this event ranks among the biggest industrial disasters in commercial history. An accident with low probability and significant consequences, the Bhopal disaster happened when a highly poisonous cloud of methyl isocyanate (MIC) vapor burst from the Union Carbide pesticide facility in the city of Bhopal on December 3, 1984 resulting in the death of 2,000 of the 800,000 residents of Bhopal at the time, and to the injury of 300,000 more.

This presentation introduces the Bhopal Gas Disaster and the factors that led to its occurrence. It continues to discuss the aftermath of the disaster and the investigations that resulted from it. The presentation ends by discussing the lessons learnt from the disaster to the present date.
