Plumbing Systems Design
This online engineering PDH course provides a basic guide to the design of plumbing systems.
This course presents the criteria pertinent to the design of drainage (sanitary and storm water), water supply, and fuel gas systems. It also describes the energy conservation requirements associated with these systems.
Plumbing systems are essential for supplying clean water, handling sanitary/stormwater, and delivering fuel gas in buildings. They encompass several key components such as pipes, valves, fixtures, heaters, and other accessories. Plumbing systems are one of the main aspects of building design.
This 5 PDH online course is applicable to mechanical and plumbing engineers as well as other technical personnel interested in learning more about plumbing systems.
This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understanding the drainage systems which comprise of sanitary systems, sumps & sump pumps, interceptors, chemical wastes, backwater valves, food waste grinders, floor drains, storm water drainage, downspouts, sub-soil drains, P-traps, venting requirements and combined sanitary and storm drainage system
- Learning about water supply systems which comprise of supply water service, water hammer arrestors, booster systems, hydro-pneumatic system guidelines, hot water systems, type of units and circulation schemes, chilled water drinking systems, types of units and design
- Familiarizing with insulation of plumbing systems
- Learning about fuel gas systems and understanding their safety precautions
- Familiarizing with the energy conservation related to the different plumbing systems such as water source heat pumps, heat recovery air conditioning systems, auxiliary condensers, solar domestic hot water heater, and more
