Lead in Construction
This online engineering PDH course provides guidance on the OSHA Lead in Construction Standard which regulates lead exposures in the construction industry.
Lead is heavily used in the construction industry. It is primarily used in paint (known as lead-based paint) because it increases durability, speeds drying and inhibits corrosion. When working with construction or demolition projects involving lead-based paint; workers tend to breath in lead as dust, fume or mist. Inhalation of lead can cause damage to the central nervous system, reproductive system and other body organs.
OSHA recognizes that lead handling activities present serious hazards to all workers involved. Therefore, OSHA developed the Lead in Construction Standard to protect employees against lead hazards by regulating lead exposures in the construction industry.
This 3 PDH online course is applicable to employers, building owners, lead inspectors/designers, engineers, managers, construction workers and any other personnel working on construction projects that require lead handling.
