Kyle Dobiszewski
I am an engineer with 10+ years of experience in industry and academia. In 2009, I earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (ABET-accredited) from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). I then earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering (Biomaterials and Polymer Engineering specialization) in 2013, also from NJIT. Upon completion of my degree, I worked with a group of professors at a university spin-off start-up, which aimed to commercialize a novel carbon nanotube sensor platform. I then moved on to a principal R&D engineer position at an early-stage company in the in-vitro diagnostics development space. In 2017, I assumed the role of Associate Director of research at one of the colleges at NJIT. While in this role, I developed and taught several 3-credit undergraduate courses, as well as presented many educational seminars to diverse audiences. Finally, in my most recent role, I have served as a R&D engineer at a corporation that specializes in the manufacturing of small pumps, valves, and other fluidic components for applications in various industries. In addition to my engineering responsibilities, I have actively participated in EH&S roles at my various employers due to my ~15 years of experience as a firefighter and EMT.
