Scott and Leslie Washburn, P.E.

Dr. Scott Washburn and Ms. Leslie Washburn are an online PDH course providers of continuing education courses for professional engineers.

Dr. Washburn is an expert in traffic flow theory, traffic operations analysis, traffic simulation model development, development of traffic analysis and level of service computational methodologies and complementary software tools.

Dr. Washburn is also a Professor in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida, where he has served on the faculty since August of 1999. Dr. Washburn obtained his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Washington and Florida.

Dr. Washburn has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and is co-author of the textbook “Principles of Highway Engineering and Traffic Analysis”. Dr. Washburn is the developer of the Florida Department of Transportation LOSPLAN software package.

Dr. Washburn is a member of the Transportation Research Board's Highway Capacity and Quality of Service Committee (which develops the Highway Capacity Manual), and is chair of the User Liaison subcommittee, past chair of the Freeway/Multilane Highway subcommittee, and is also actively involved with the Two-Lane Highway, Simulation, and Performance Measures subcommittees. He is currently the principal investigator on a National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) project on two-lane highway operations analysis that will result in a new chapter for the HCM.

Dr. Washburn’s teaching background includes courses on civil engineering systems, transportation engineering, traffic engineering, freeway operations, traffic simulation, geometric design, numeric/computational methods, and statistical and econometric methods.

Ms. Leslie Washburn was the Workforce Development Coordinator for the University of Florida Transportation Institute until February 2015. Ms. Washburn has 22 years of professional experience in project management, permit review, and transportation curriculum development.

Ms. Washburn received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Montana State University. She is a registered professional engineer in Florida.

Shashi Menon, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Shashi Menon is an online PDH course provider of continuing education courses for professional engineers.
 
Dr. Menon is a registered Professional Engineer in California, with Bachelors and Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 40 years of experience in various industries, including 38 years in the Oil, Gas and the Pipeline industry. He has worked in Engineering Consulting companies and Major US Oil and Gas Companies as Project engineer, Project Manager and Director of Special Projects.
 
Dr. Menon started his consulting company SYSTEK technologies, Inc. in 1982 and has been providing engineering services to North and South American firms in Pipeline feasibility studies, cost estimates, hydraulics studies and transient analyses. He has authored several PC software programs in hydraulics and pumps for the oil and gas industry, which are marketed through SYSTEK's web site. These software products are used by various operating companies and consulting firms worldwide.
 
Dr. Menon also conducts training workshops in Liquid and Gas Pipeline Hydraulics in the USA and South America. He has authored five books on Liquid and Gas Pipeline Hydraulics published by McGraw Hill, Taylor and Francis Companies and Elsevier. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Steven Liescheidt, P.E., CCS, CCPR

Mr. Steven Liescheidt is an online PDH course provider of continuing education courses for professional engineers.
 
Mr. Liescheidt is a registered Professional Engineer with over 35 years of experience in the professional consulting engineering and product sales/marketing segments of the building construction industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA degree.  In addition, he has both a CCS (Certified Construction Specifier) and CCPR (Certified Construction Product Representative) certification through the CSI (Construction Specifications Institution).
 
Mr. Liescheidt is active in many professional organizations related to the construction industry, including ASHRAE, CSI and US Green Building Council-St. Louis Chapter.  Mr. Liescheidt has authored technical articles related to product applications and continuing education.  He also is the author of the monthly series of the HVAC Challenge©, a technical quiz based on the ASHRAE Handbooks published in the Engineered Systems Magazine.

Steven Vitale., P.E.

Dr. Vitale holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the NY Polytechnic University (presently known as NYU School of Engineering). He was registered as a Professional Engineer in six states and is actively registered in New York and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Vitale is a veteran engineer with over 52 years of experience in the Gas Industry, including Vice President and Chief Engineer over Production and Engineering across 4 States. Dr. Vitale worked domestically and internationally as a consultant for the Gas Industry for more than 20 years, particularly in LNG import, export, and peak shaving facilities around the works of the world. A major focus has been on site-specific plant operator training.

Dr. Vitale's dedication to the engineering field is evident in his teaching of graduate and undergraduate evening engineering courses. His current focus and passion lie in providing training services to ensure the safety and reliability of LNG facilities. He is committed to excellence.
