Confined Space Entry
This online engineering PDH course is a fact sheet that provides information about permit-required confined space entry based on OSHA standards.
Permit-required confined space entry poses potential hazards to employees working in such spaces. These employees can face increased risk of injury exposure due to entrapment, engulfment and hazardous atmospheric conditions. Permit-required confined space related injuries and fatalities account for a significant number of accidents in the construction workplace. OSHA recognizes that permit-required confined space entry presents serious hazards to all workers involved. Therefore, OSHA developed the Confined Space Standard to protect employees in the general industry from the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces.
